“Maliit pa lang ako ay Alaska na ang gamit ng mga lolo at lola ko at hanggang ngayon, Alaska pa rin ang gamit namin,” said 68-year-old Evelita Dela Cruz, a proud and loyal user of Alaska Milk products.
“My grandparents have been using Alaska (products) ever since we were young, and up until now, we still use Alaska.”
“I make ice candies using Alaska, cook it, and put cocoa (powder). I can sell 100 pieces (of ice candies) every day. I was able to save because of it, and little by little, our sari-sari store became a mini grocery.”
Evelita, a resident of Brgy. Santa Monica, Novaliches in Quezon City, fondly recalls when they were living in the squatters area in Pugong Ginto, Novaliches. But because of her perseverance, waking up as early as 3 A.M. to go to Balintawak Market with her husband to buy ingredients and items for their mini store, they were able to buy their own lot in Mayang Pula at Brgy. Santa Monica and continued their business using Alaska products. Because of smart entrepreneurship and optimization of resources, they were able to fund their four children’s schooling to finish their college education.
“Alaska is indeed a great help to our lives, especially now that you have taught us new knowledge and skill.”
This live cooking demonstration is a part of the AlasKabuhayan livelihood program of AMC held in Brgy. Santa Monica, Novaliches, Quezon City last August 9, 2022.
