Alaska Milk Celebrates 51st Anniversary by Giving Back to the Community, Tandems with Robinsons Supermarket to Nourish Children in Isabela

True to its mission of providing affordable nutrition to Filipinos, Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) celebrates its 51st anniversary in the dairy market by giving back to the community. In a heartwarming initiative, AMC partnered with Robinsons Supermarket Corporation (RSC) to nourish wasted and stunted schoolchildren in Sinsayon Elementary School in Santiago City, Isabela, through their collaborative program called “AlasKaramay,” a variation of AlasKalusugan but specifically for AMC and RSC partnership.

On September 21, 2023, AMC and RSC joined forces by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to provide much-needed milk products for the school-based milk-feeding program of the elementary school. The program aims to address the issue of malnutrition and help improve the overall health and well-being of these students.

AMC’s commitment to affordable nutrition aligns perfectly with its mission to positively impact Filipinos’ lives. By reaching out to communities in need, the company aims to ensure that every Filipino child has access to essential nutrients for their growth and development.

Through this program, AMC and RSC have taken a proactive approach to combatting malnutrition. By providing milk products, they are not only nourishing the bodies of these students but also uplifting their spirits and instilling a sense of hope for a brighter future.

This collaborative effort between AMC and RSC reflects the power of partnerships in creating meaningful change. By combining their resources and expertise, they can reach a larger audience and significantly impact the lives of those in need.

“The results of Robinsons Supermarket’s Alaskaramay is indeed something to be really proud of as we are able to deliver more than five times our original target, allowing us to milk-feed more than 500 learners of Sinsayon Elementary School. All in all, with Robinsons Easymart and Shopwise, this project allows us to impact the lives of more than 700 wasted and undernourished learners. That is 700 lives who will receive our ALAGANG ALASKA. Hopefully, someday, they will pay it forward to others as well,” said Diane Lourdes Reyes, National Key Accounts Manager of AMC.

Initially targeting 12,000 milk glasses for 100 children, the partnership between AMC and RSC collected 67,473 glasses, or the equivalent of 563 adopted schoolchildren.

In addition to providing milk products, AMC and RSC are working with the school and local authorities to develop sustainable solutions that address the underlying causes of malnutrition. This includes educational programs on proper nutrition, hygiene practices, and the importance of a balanced diet.

“We believe every child deserves access to proper nutrition, regardless of their circumstances. Through the AlasKaramay program, we hope to make a difference in the lives of these students and contribute to their overall well-being,” added RSC Merchandising Director Mai Magleo.

The milk-feeding program program serves as a testament to AMC’s unwavering commitment to its mission and its dedication to giving back to the community. By supporting the education and health of these students, AMC and RSC are investing in the future of the nation.

As AMC celebrates its 51st anniversary in the dairy market, it remains steadfast in its goal of providing affordable nutrition to Filipinos. AlasKalusugan program is just one of the many initiatives the company has undertaken to fulfill its mission and positively impact Filipinos’ lives.
